B1G Tiers: Michigan Joins Ohio State at the Top

There are eight games left in the college football season. FanDuel Sportsbook has broken the Big Ten teams into tiers. Michigan joins Ohio State at the top.

Ohio State and Michigan are in the same tier. Ohio State has more NFL-caliber skill players, but Michigan looks like a pro team in trenches. Michigan has a more physical offensive line and a better defense. Michigan is the more physically dominant team.

Penn State beat Minnesota and pushed Ohio State in a way that others can't. The Nittany Lions are not in the same class as the Wolverines or Buckeyes, but there is clearly a talent gap between them and the rest of the Big Ten conference.

B1G Tiers: Michigan Joins Ohio State at the Top. Illinois (+1200), Iowa (+25000), Maryland (+ 25000, Minnesota (+250000) and Purdue (+3000), Wisconsin (+2500). Illinois beat Minnesota by one score and Iowa by a field goal.

Maryland has the best offense in the tier. Purdue won their first two games against teams in this tier but lost their most recent game at Wisconsin. Iowa's next two matches are against Illinois and against Iowa. Wisconsin is a borderline tier-three member. Michigan joins Ohio State at the top of the B1G Tiers. The team is currently ranked No. 1. They have as much talent as anyone in B-1g West.

Nebraska and Michigan St. have been disappointing this season. Michigan lost five games by double-digits. Nebraska had a chance to win the game against Illinois, but the quarterback went down and it was over.

The B1G Tier 5 is Indiana, Northwestern, Rutgers, who have just one Big Ten win and are out of the title contention. Rutgers has a 4-4 record, but they are unlikely to make a bowl game. Northwestern hasn't won a game in the United States this season.
