BCB After Dark: Happy Thanksgiving (And Chicago Cubs catchers)

BCB After Dark is open for the evening. Trey Mancini was voted the best player for a one-year contract with the Cubs. Charlie Parker played jazz songs for Thanksgiving. He also wants to do a film noir bracket and ask for nominations. He will ask feedback in the comments. It will be a different genre or decade. The winner will come after a vote. There will also be an issue about a 16-film bracket. This is not a baseball holiday. Thanksgiving is a holiday for people. They get the Fourth of July. i.e. they watch football and spend time with family. I.E. the turkey is the centerpiece of Thanksgiving meals.

BCB After Dark is asking people for their favorite Thanksgiving side dish. The categories are broad. It can be sweet potatoes, candied yams, green beans, gnocchi or whatever preparation you love at your table.

The odds of Willson Contreras returning to the Cubs next year are low. The Cubs are going to look for a new catcher this winter. Christian Vázquez and Omar Narváez are two of the players who could be a good fit for the team. Mike Zunino is another player who might be interesting to them. 274/.315/.399 with nine home runs between Boston and Houston last year. He also hit .266/.342/.402 with better offensive numbers than Vazquez. His defensive reputation is better than his offensive. P.J. Higgins is still around and can serve as a third catcher and as backup corner infielder.
