BetQL College Football Picks for this Weekend

Arguably, the most intriguing game on Saturday’s college football schedule is the no. 17 TCU Horned Frogs facing the Colorado Buffaloes. The Horned Frogs are coming off their trip to the national title game last season while this game marks the debut of Deion Sanders as head coach of the Buffs, so there is no shortage of subplots despite the Horned Frogs being 20.5-point favorites. In terms of personnel, this year’s TCU offense will look nothing like it did in 2022. The Horned Frogs lost most of their top skill players, best offensive linemen, and quarterback Max Duggan. Of course, Sonny Dykes did well in the transfer portal while new quarterback Chandler Morris actually started last year’s season opener before getting hurt. That should help the Horned Frogs retain some of their firepower from a year ago. On the other side, Sanders inherits a program that’s just 5-19 over the last two years. Of course, Sanders loaded his roster with high-profile transfers and will have his son Shedeur as the quarterback of his offense after two impressive seasons at Jackson State. Plus, Sean Lewis left his gig as the head coach at Kent State to run his up-tempo offense as Colorado’s offensive coordinator. However, Sanders might be relying on too many transfers, especially on a defense that allowed 44.5 points per game last year. With so many transfers, many coming from the FCS level, it could take the Buffs some time to gel and get up to speed, opening the door for the Horned Frogs to win and cover in the season opener.
