Blues vs Flames Prediction NHL Picks 1/23/24

The St. Louis Blues will play the Calgary Flames on Tuesday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta. St. Louis has lost three of their last four games, while Calgary is on a two game losing streak. Let’s take a look at the betting matchup and the Blues vs Flames prediction.

Blues Preview

The St. Louis Blues are 22-20-2 this year after they defeated Washington by a score of 3-0 in their last game. St. Louis got one goal in all three periods for the shutout win. The Blues out shot Washington by a total of 29-18 and went 1-2 on the power play in the game. St. Louis had lost their previous three games against Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington. The Blues are scoring 2.80 goals per game and they are allowing 3.16 goals against per game, while going 13.8% on the power play and 78% on the penalty kill. Robert Thomas has led St. Louis with 16 goals, 30 assists, and 91 shots on goal. The projected starting goalie for St. Louis is Jordan Binnington, who is 15-12-2 this year with a 2.98 goals against average and a .906 save percentage.

Flames Preview

The Calgary Flames are 21-20-5 this season after they lost to Edmonton by a score of 3-1 in their last game. Calgary tied the game at one in the second period, but they allowed two goals in the third for the loss. The Flames were out shot by a total of 32-27 and went 0-3 on the power play in the game. Calgary lost to Toronto by a score of 4-3 in the game prior to Edmonton, but did win the previous four games. The Flames are scoring 3.11 goals per game and they are allowing 3.09 goals against per game, while going 13.8% on the power play and 84.3% on the penalty kill. Blake Coleman has led Calgary with 20 goals, 19 assists, and 109 shots on goal. The projected starting goalie for Calgary is Dan Vladar, who is 7-7-2 this year with a 3.27 goals against average and a .888 save percentage.

Blues vs Flames Betting Prediction

St. Louis was able to snap their three game losing streak with a win against the Capitals last time out, but they are only 8-12-1 on the road this season. Calgary had been playing some decent hockey, but they have lost two in a row to Edmonton and Toronto. The Flames have had an inconsistent season, but they are the slightly better offensive team in this matchup. The Blues are only scoring 2.80 goals per game and I don’t like them on the road. Take Calgary in this game.
