Bookmakers Release Opening Odds To Win The 2024 Stanley Cup

The 2023 Stanley Cup Finals are (finally) underway with the Vegas Knights leading the Florida Panthers one game to none and game 2 set for Monday night in Las Vegas. And while the 2022-23 season begins to wind down, bookmakers are busy with the upcoming 2023-24 season, and have already posted their opening odds to win next year’s Stanley Cup.

There are no real surprises at the top, with Colorado (+800) next year’s favorite out of the starting gates. The Toronto Maple Leafs and Edmonton Oilers hold the second best odds (+1100), followed by the New Jersey Devils, Boston Bruins, Vegas Knights, Carolina Hurricanes and  Tampa Bay Lightning at +1300. The Washington Capitals currently sit with the St. Louis Blues and Seattle Kraken a +5500. No respect for the Kraken or the Florida Panthers.

For what it’s worth, both the Florida Panthers and Vegas Knights, this years finalists, opened at +1000 in June of last year. [Last year’s opening odds here.]

It should be noted that these odds will change as we move through the summer, following the draft, trades and free agency. We will revisit the odds after free agency and again on opening night.
