Bubba Wallace, NASCAR restart king? William Byron has a case. Vote!

You can pick any driver to win a race. The caveat? The race concludes with a green-white-checkers finish.

Who ya got?

For Bubba Wallace, he’s betting on himself every time. Even after missing a golden opportunity at Texas on Sunday.

“The best restarter in the game gives it up on a restart,” Wallace said after losing the lead on a late restart and finishing third.

So, is Bubba right? Is he really the best restarter in NASCAR? If not, who is?

We want you to tell us.

Certainly, restarts are a hard thing to quantify and while Wallace lost the lead Sunday, Byron took it from third place and finished it off for his sixth win of the year. Byron has been strong on restarts and led just six laps on Sunday ... the right six.. Just two weeks ago, we saw Tyler Reddick take advantage of a late-race restart to win at Kansas despite leading just two laps.

And there are other candidates. Joey Logano. Kyle Larson. Denny Hamlin. Ross Chastain. Guys that consistently finish late-race scenarios in better spots than they probably should thanks to the right aggressive and strategic moves.

So, who’s the best? That’s your task this week.

Last week, we asked you why Denny Hamlin is so hated among NASCAR fans these days. Voters tabbed Hamlin’s demeanor and attitude in interviews as the number one cause with 34.4% of the vote.

As always, you may vote up to once per hour until the poll closes before next Sunday’s race at Talladega. Remember to send all thoughts and comments to [email protected] or tweet the to @RPritt on Twitter. We may run some of our favorites with next week’s story…
