Canadiens Points Projections: Suzuki, Caufield, & More
Montreal Canadiens are expected to finish in the bottom-five in 2022-23 season. The team is expected not to make the playoffs. However, the team will participate in NHL Draft Lottery in 2023. The Athletic, FiveThirtyEight, and Money Puck project a 31st-place finish, while the Daily Hive and Evolving Wild have them finishing 30th overall. Inffective Math is more bullish about the Canadiens' chances, projecting 83 points and a 28th-placed finish.
Both NHL.com and ESPN agree Nick Suzuki is likely to lead the Montreal Canadiens in scoring this season. NHLcom thinks he will score 76 points, whereas ESPN predicts 60 points. Cole Caufield is the next player to appear on both lists, with a 55 and 54-point projection. Juraj Slafkovsky features third for the Canadiens on NHL’s projected point list, however, ESPN is taking a more conservative approach with 10 goals and 14 assists in 60 games.
