Champion Chase Day at Down Royal

Cougar won the first race on Champion Chase Day at Down Royal.

The day started with a well-earned success for the Padraig Roche-trained Cougar. J.P. McManus owned entire was in a good position throughout the contest. New Years Honours, previously trained by Ralph Beckett, made her debut for Gordon Elliott. Invictus Machin scythed his way past the opposition to take the competition. Foxfire Glow could only manage third in the Tayto Group Maiden Hurdle. The Wallpark won the race for trainer Gavin Cromwell. He was ridden by Keith Donoghue.
