Cheltenham Festival memories: David Ord 2010 reflections

Kauto Star was sent off the 8/11 favourite for the Gold Cup. Big Buck's won the Stayers' Hurdle. Willie Mullins’ Quevega was another repeat winner for Walsh. Dunguib was the Irish banker of the week. Ireland was on the board in the Arkle but not as expected through Captain Cee Bee. Henry de Bromhead claimed an early big prize with Sizing Europe. Ferdy Murphy found his customary Festival winner with Poker De Sivola. Chief Dan George took the William Hill Trophy back to the Lake District. Peddlers Cross and Ballabriggs completed a big double for Donald McCain yard. Katie Walsh won County Hundle on Thousand Stars for Willie.

Andrew Pelis attended the 2010 Cheltenham Festival. Big Buck's was a highlight. Bertie's Dream won a dramatic renewal of the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle. Weapon's Amnesty's RSA Chase is still remembered. Henry de Bromhead met Andrew Pel is after the race. They had a good chat. He had already been a fantastic meeting for him, with Sizing Europe landing the Arkle and it has been wonderful to follow his career since.
