Cheltenham Festival memories: David Ord's reflections of a memorable meeting in 1992

David Ord's father had a car accident on the first day of the 1992 Cheltenham Festival. Royal Gait was disqualified from the Gold Cup at Ascot. Nomadic Way was a dual-purpose horse who won the Stayers' Hurdle. Saeed Manana's silks won two races. David Ord was at the Festival in 1992. He was seven years old. The horse died after finishing fourth at Leopardstown the following December. It was his final start. His career was amazing. he had started in Spain, moved to France and England and became a Group One winner.
