One of the top races on Friday is the Mucking Brilliant Paddy Power Handicap Chase, which has top class chasers involved including Calico, Triple Trade and Do Your Job.

It's set to be soft ground throughout the weekend and maybe even heavy towards Saturday and Sunday with plenty of rain due across the weekend.

Calico is dangerous considering he last ran in a Grade 1 and put in a great effort until falling at the last, which shows clear form ahead of his rivals.

He's off the same weight now on his first run since that test at Aintree and looks very well-weighted to win as the favourite.

The Grade 2 Arkle Trial after is another big prize race of the weekend, but despite just four runners involved it's still wide open.

There's plenty of uncertainties in this 2m chase, including how Mighty Tom and, Homme Public, JPR One will fare on their second runs over fences.

Homme Public's form might well put him ahead in the calculations though as he won ahead of Geromino at Wetherby last month but any of the four runners have a big chance if improving.

Stage Star is the big favourite of the showpiece race in the Paddy Power Gold Cup Chase on Saturday afternoon, after his exceptional victory at Cheltenham Festival in the Turners' Novices' Chase.

There are a few each-way claims to be made in that race though, including the top-weight, The Real Whacker who won the longer distance Brown Advisory at the festival which has proven to be incredible form.
