Pitcher Mike Clevinger was signed by the White Sox on December 4, 2022, to a one-year, $8 million deal with a mutual option for $12 million in 2024 or a $4 million buyout.

The A’s head into this season after a disappointing, but expected, last-place finish in 2022. For a market like Oakland, that’s not bad actually.

Mueller, a former second-round selection by Atlanta, brings a track record of success in the minor leagues and a few coffees with the Braves.
