Derby hero takes Independence Cup

Stroke of Luck won the Independence Cup at Santa Rosa Park, Arima. It was the first time he had won an open event. Super Bird finished second, one-length behind Stroke Of Luck. Just Exhale finished third, Leonardo Angel fourth and Wise Guy eighth.   The Independence Day holiday card was held at the Santa Rosa Park. The track was wet, so the main course was switched to the inner track. Last year's competition was not held because of a Covid-19 shutdown. Affirmative suffered a career-ending injury in the President’s Cup and was euthanised.
