Diamondbacks vs. Tigers prediction and odds for Saturday, June 10

The Tigers rebuild has been on pace all year long, but the team has hit a rough patch, now well under .500 and hopes of competing in a crowded in AL Central has faded.

The team will send out left handed Matt Boyd to try and limit an elite offense in the Diamondbacks on Saturday afternoon, who send back of the rotation right hander Ryne Nelson. Detroit's offense has fallen off as the season has gone on, but can the team find some success at home against a middling pitching staff?

Here are the odds for Saturday's matchup:

The D-Backs offense is likely going to tee off on Boyd, who has an ERA of 5.57 and is struggling to keep runners off the base paths by walking nearly four batters per nine innings this season. Arizona is hitting .270 on the year against southpaws and have been one of the most potent run scoring offenses this season, sixth in runs scored.

However, Detroit's offense may show some life at the plate against Nelson, who has a 5.40 ERA on the year that is supported by a 5.06 xERA. Nelson, like Boyd, is struggling with walking batters at over three per nine innings. That'll be massive for a Tigers team that is hitting just .175 as a team over the last 15 days but is drawing walks at a top five rate in that same time.

This total is deflated because of the Tigers perceived weakness at the plate, but Detroit is equipped to get some runs on Nelson and make this a high scoring game. I'll go over in the second of three games.
