Flyers vs Devils Prediction NHL Picks 2/17/24

The Philadelphia Flyers will play the New Jersey Devils on Saturday night in the Stadium Series at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Philadelphia has won four of their last five games, while New Jersey has won two of their last three. Let’s take a look at the betting matchup and the Flyers vs Devils prediction.

Flyers Preview

The Philadelphia Flyers are 29-19-7 this year after they lost to Toronto in overtime by a score of 4-3 in their last game. Philadelphia tied the game at three late in the third period, but allowed William Nylander to score the winning goal in overtime for the Leafs. The Flyers out shot Toronto by a total of 32-28 and went 1-3 on the power play in the game. Philadelphia had won their previous four games against Arizona, Seattle, Winnipeg, and Florida. The Flyers are scoring 2.91 goals per game and they are allowing 2.86 goals against per game, while going 13% on the power play and 86% on the penalty kill. Travis Konecny has led Philadelphia with 26 goals, 25 assists, and 183 shots on goal. The projected starting goalie for Philadelphia is Samuel Ersson, who is 15-9-4 this year with a 2.55 goals against average and a .900 save percentage.

Devils Preview

The New Jersey Devils are 27-22-4 this season after they lost to the Kings by a score of 2-1 in their last game. New Jersey tied the game at one in the second period, but they couldn’t find any more offense in the loss. The Devils were out shot by a total of 29-27 and went 1-5 on the power play in the game. New Jersey defeated Nashville by a score of 4-2 and Seattle by a score of 3-1 in the two games prior to LA. The Devils are scoring 3.34 goals per game and they are allowing 3.42 goals against per game, while going 23.6% on the power play and 79.4% on the penalty kill. Jesper Bratt has led New Jersey with 20 goals, 37 assists, and 165 shots on goal. The projected starting goalie for New Jersey is Nico Daws, who is 5-6-0 this year with a 2.93 goals against average and a .909 save percentage.

Flyers vs Devils Betting Prediction

Philadelphia had their four game winning streak snapped in their last game in Toronto, but they were able to get a point with the overtime loss. The Devils have dealt with more than a few injuries this season and they have been inconsistent, but they have picked up at least one point in three of their last four games. This will be a great game to watch, as I always love to watch the outdoor games, but I think we are getting good value on the Flyers. Philadelphia has played great since the All-Star break and New Jersey’s defense has been below average. Take the Flyers here.
