Gasparilla Bowl: Georgia Tech vs. UCF

Georgia Tech vs. UFC

Pick: UCF Over 37.5 Points (-105) at DraftKings

With all their starters on offense in place, UCF is set to take on a Georgia Tech defense that finished the year allowing 32 points per game and over six yards per play. Now, they’re without two better defensive players in Kennard and Johnson.

UCF quarterback John Rhys Plumlee has played quite well this year despite his brief absence. He’s run for 522 yards and five touchdowns and has five games over his last six with 248 passing yards or more. Running back RJ Harvey has 1,300 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns this season.

Georgia Tech will have trouble against this rock-solid UCF offense without two key starters.

Pick: Largest Lead Over 17.5 Points (-125) at DraftKings

While both offenses are at full strength here, the same cannot be said for Georgia Tech’s defense, as discussed above.

Georgia Tech runs for over 190 yards per game, but UCF is fourth in the nation at 231.5. With Georgia Tech allowing 32 per game, it’s hard to envision a drive where UCF doesn’t come away with points.

Conversely, UCF has allowed opponents just 13.3 points per game over their last three, which doesn’t bode well for a run-based offense.

Look for UCF to score in bunches here.

Pick: Race to 30 Points: UCF (-165) at DraftKings

This is a bit of everything already discussed packed in here once again, but UCF, with a total of 66.5 points in this game and favored by five points, has an implied team total of nearly 36. At the same time, Georgia Tech is close to 31.

Still, as mentioned, Georgia Tech is among the nation's leaders in points allowed per game. It is without two of their better defensive players.

Rhys Plumlee and Harvey will go up and down the field, scoring at will. UCF has an excellent chance of hitting 40 points scored in this one.
