Henry de Bromhead hints at Grand National run for Minella Indo after Rachael Blackmore win at Punchestown

Henry de Bromhead has hinted that Minella Indo could be primed for another crack at the Grand National following Rachael Blackmore's superb win at Punchestown.

The 10-year-old, whose finest hour came with victory in the 2021 Cheltenham Gold Cup, rolled back the years to take home victory in the Irish Daily Star Chase by a length and a quarter from second-placed Hurricane Georgie.

After a brilliant run at Punchestown on Wednesday, the de Bromhead trained horse has been priced at 40/1 to win next year's much changed Grand National.

Having not been seen since pulling up in the Gold Cup at Cheltenham earlier this year, Minella Indo defied the odds and father time to leave de Bromhead purring at his prospects of a Grand National success.

"Rachael said that he really enjoyed himself out there — he jumped from fence to fence, with his ears pricked," said de Bromhead.

"This was very encouraging and we’ll enjoy it. We can decide in the next few weeks where we’ll go.

"The Grand National is something we can discuss."
