Horse racing predictions: Leopardstown and Doncaster

Leopardstown is the mainstay for ITV Racing on Thursday. Neville Hotels Novices Chase and Matheson Hurdle are the features from Leopardstown. ITV also shows four races from Ireland and two from Doncaster.

Enda McElhinney has recommendations for all six races on Thursday.

1.10pm Leopardstown – BeattheBank.ie Irish EBF Mares Hurdle (Grade 3, 2m 4f). Queens Brook is the favourite for Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott.

Leopardstown and Doncaster are both racing today. Leopardstown has Neville Hotels Novice Chase (Grade 1, 3m). Mighty Potter beat Gaillard Du Mesnil into second in the Grade 1 Drinmore Novices Chase at Fairyhouse this month. Three Stripes Life went off favourite at the Fairy house after a debut win over fences at Naas.

Sharjah is bidding to win the Matheson Hurdle for the fifth year in a row. Vauban and Pied Piper are the opposition for Patrick Mullins. Paul Townend sticks with the Morgiana Huddle winner.

2.40pm Doncaster – bet365 Handicap Chase (3m). Oliver Greenall’s GESSKILLE has taken home silver medals from two trips to Aintree this season in the Grand Sefton (2m 5f) and the Becher Chase.

Leopardstown is hosting the I.N.H. Stallion Owners EBF Novice Handicap Hurdle (2m 4f) at 2.55pm. Hardy Bloke and Green Glory are in action. Ted Walsh's Gahnt Charm is the favourite.

3.10pm Doncaster – bet365 Yorkshire Silver Vase Mares’ Chase (Listed, 2m 4½f). Nigel Twiston-Davies”s mare had a pleasing second on her comeback at Market Rasen over further in November and has since won as she pleased in Listed company at Carlisle. Nigel won the race 12 months ago.
