How To Watch: Penn State basketball’s season-opener vs. Winthrop

Penn State basketball opens the 2022-23 season when it plays host to Winthrop at the Jordan Center at 7 p.m. Monday. The game can only be seen on BTN+. The Nittany Lions are beginning their second season under head coach Micah Shrewsberry. Winthrong is in their 2nd season and went 23-9 last year.

This is one of four Penn State non-conference games that are only available to view on BTN+. The others are Loyola of Maryland (Thursday), Lafayette (Nov. 25), and Delaware State (Dec. 29).

Penn State basketball's season-opener is against Winthrop. Shrewsberry did not include probable starters in his game notes. Winthrope was 1-5 versus NCAA Quad 1 and Quad 2 opponents last season. The Eagles have to replace Big South Player of the Year DJ Burns. Penn State is 6-0 all-time against the Big S. They have won five straight season openers. Loyola of Maryland plays at the BJC at 7 p.m. Thursday. Loysola went 14-16 last year and closed with seven losses in its last eight games.
