Kim Bailey: ‘Racing was not shown in a good light’

Kim Bailey is disappointed with the way Saturday's racing at Ascot was shown on TV. He believes the weather conditions ruined the racing. Nicky Henderson decided not to run Constitution Hill. Bailey was forced to apologise to the course's owner Stan Clarke for not running his Champion Hurdle winner Alderbrook. The weather has been bad at the racecourses this autumn. Two of Bailey's horses have been abandoned on thecourse. The trainers are not sure if the conditions are as they say. They are often wrong. It is down to course clerks to be honest. In the past three weeks Bailey has taken his horses to races only to have them abandoned.

Kim Bailey is concerned about the lack of female representation in racing. She believes that the sport needs to attract more female employees. Racecourses need to improve their changing- and weighing-room facilities to accommodate female jockeys.

Kim Bailey believes that racing was not shown in a good light. Let us know if you agree with Kim's thoughts and we will publish it in the next issue of Horse & Hound magazine.
