Longtime Rutgers assistant coach announces departure from program

Nunzio Campanile is leaving Rutgers after 5 years. He was the Scarlet Knights' interim offensive coordinator for the second half of the 2022 season. The tight ends coach is the third member of Rutgers' 2022 coaching staff to leave the program this week.

Campanile's contract at Rutgers is set to expire on February 29, 2024. He was scheduled to make $315,000 in the 2023 season. Greg Schiano replaced his entire defensive staff and made changes to the offensive staff between the 2021 and 2022 seasons. Campaniles was hired by Chris Ash as a running backs coach and then as tight ends coach. After Ash was fired, Campani was promoted to offensive coordinator. His team struggled in his six games in that position. He won one game. The team finished the season with a 1-7 record.
