Miami Marlins vs Los Angeles Dodgers Prediction 9-7-23 MLB Picks

The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Miami Marlins meet Thursday in MLB action from Marlins Park. This will be the finale in a three-game series. The Marlins secured a three-run win in the opener, then in game two Miami kept rolling with a blowout victory. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers had a brief 2-0 lead in the Tuesday opener of this set, but ultimately lost 6-3 after going cold on the scoreboard. Chris Taylor had a solo homer in the defeat. On Wednesday in game two, Los Angeles had six hits and two errors in an 11-4 loss. Jason Heyward (two runs) and James Outman (two RBI) each had a homer in the defeat.

As the starter in game three the Dodgers will go with Ryan Pepiot. In three games (one start) so far Pepiot is 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA and 14 strikeouts over 14.0 frames.

Miami Marlins

Over on the Marlins’ side, they scored three runs in the eighth inning to cap off their Tuesday comeback win. Jake Burger, Bryan De La Cruz, Jazz Chisholm and Josh Bell each had a home run in that one. On Wednesday Miami posted 13 hits and nine runs in the fifth inning alone. Chisholm had three RBI, two hits and a homer in the victory.

It’ll be Braxton Garrett in the starter role for the Marlins on Thursday. This year across 27 games (26 starts) Garrett is 8-5 with a 3.86 ERA and 136 Ks in 140.0 innings. Garrett is 3-2 with a 2.70 ERA in his last seven starts total.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’ll probably take a stab on the Marlins here. Garrett has been pretty solid in his last three starts. In that time he’s got a total of seven earned runs in 18.0 innings, going 6.0 frames in each. Garrett is just 1-2 in those three starts however, so he’ll need some help from the offense in order to get another W. On Wednesday the Marlins continued their offensive onslaught. That makes six or more runs in six straight games; all victories. I like Miami to keep it up in game three for the sweep.
