Minnesota Wild 2022-23 Season Preview
The Minnesota Wild had a great season in 2021-22. They were second in the Western Conference and third in league scoring. However, they had some poor defensive play and a poor goalie play in 2022. Marc-André Fleury came in and took over the goalkeeping duties. The Wild won the playoffs, but they were defeated in six games by the St. Louis Blues.
Rookie Calen Addison will get some powerplay time with the Wild. Jared Spurgeon will continue his rise in the NHL. He was voted the seventh-most valuable defenceman by EvolvingHockey.com. He finished last season with 40 points. The Wild's power play has been below average for the last few years. It finished with a 20.5 percent conversion rate with extra man last year. They added an offensively gifted defenseman, Calin Addisons, to their team. His presence will improve the team's special teams. There were a few notable defensemen leaving the club this summer.
