MLB parlay picks June 7: Bet on offence in Dodgers/Reds matchup

Today’s MLB parlay picks involve a trio of run total wagers.

The pregame narrative: Last night’s 17-run total between the Dodgers and Reds is hopefully a sign of things to come for tonight’s matchup. Elsewhere, we’re fading offence for the Braves and Rockies, who will face Max Scherzer and Logan Webb, respectively.

MLB parlay picks

Parlay: LAD/CIN over 9.5 runs + Braves under 4.5 runs + Rockies under 4.5 runs (+429)

Dodgers/Reds over 9.5 runs (-200): The Dodgers are tied for the best overs rate in the majors (59.3%), and that is primarily a result of their excellent offence. But tonight, L.A.’s starting pitcher should contribute to a high-scoring game, too.

Noah Syndergaard (1-4, 6.54 ERA) has been among the worst pitchers in baseball this season. This over has hit in four straight starts, as well as seven of 11 on the year.

Dating back to last season, the Dodgers and Reds have cleared this number in five straight matchups — including last night’s 9-8 win for Cincinnati.

The Dodgers average an NL-best 5.6 runs per game, but we expect both sides to be lighting up the scoreboard tonight.

Other parlay picks

Braves under 4.5 runs (-103): Betting against the Braves’ offence is not something to make a habit of, but it’s sensible in this spot against a red-hot Scherzer.

Even with a six-run meltdown against the Tigers last month, Scherzer has just a 2.23 ERA over his past seven starts — allowing a .559 opponent OPS in that span.

Seven of Scherzer’s nine opponents have fallen under this run total and it’s not like the Braves are in peak form right now.

Atlanta has averaged 4.3 runs per game in its past 16 matchups, hitting this under 10 times.

Rockies under 4.5 runs (-129): For as scorching as Scherzer has been lately, Webb has been even better for San Fran.

He has a sub-2.00 ERA over his past eight outings, working into the seventh inning or later in seven of those. It’s no wonder why he’s on the shortlist of NL Cy Young candidates right now.

Eight of Webb’s past nine opponents have hit this under, and Colorado — a team that has been under 4.5 runs in five of its past seven games — isn’t likely to buck that trend.
