MLB rumors: New York Mets, Minnesota Twins, Seattle Mariners

In this Thanksgiving spin around the world of MLB rumors, news and notes, we focus on what is being said and written about the New York Mets, Minnesota Twins and Seattle Mariners.

According to MLB insider Jon Heyman, all of those rumors surrounding Pete Alonso possibly being traded away by the Mets are nothing more than rumors.

In the quick clip below, you can hear that Heyman puts the odds of Alonso being traded at "less than 10 percent" and it honestly seems he believes the chances are less than that. That's good news for Mets fans who are hoping for a rebound from a disappointing 2023 season in Queens.

According to FanSided's MLB insider, Robert Murray, the Twins are looking to shed payroll this offseason, and that could mean that catcher Christian Vázquez may be on his way out of the Twin Cities.

The 30-year-old Vázquez is heading into the second year of a three-year, $30 million deal before his schedule of becoming of free agent hits before the 2026 campaign. In his first year with Minnesota, Vázquez slashed .223/.280/.318 with six home runs and 32 RBI in 355 plate appearances.

Could his time in Minnesota be running out? It's a situation to certainly keep an eye on.

After the Mariners traded off third baseman Eugenio Suárez to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday, MLB insider Jon Morosi believes Seattle may look to Candelario to fill the vacancy at third base.

Candelario was a hot name at the MLB trade deadline before the Chicago Cubs picked him up in a deal with the Washington Nationals. However, he underwhelmed after the move, slashing just .234/.318/.445 in 157 plate appearances.
