New York Giants vs. San Francisco 49ers Odds, TNF Best Bets & Predictions

Daniel Jones and the New York Giants made a furious second-half rally to better the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2. But the competition gets considerably stiffer in Week 3, as they head to the Bay Area to face Christian McCaffrey and the San Francisco Giants for Thursday Night Football.

One week after losing 40-0 to the Cowboys, the Giants trailed 28-7 to the Cardinals in the second half before rallying for a dramatic 31-28 victory. The Niners won a dogfight with the upstart Rams 30-23 to move to 2-0.

The latest Giants vs. 49ers have San Fransico favored by 10 points for its home opener. The Over/Under is set at 45 points.

Bookies.com veteran NFL handicapper Adam Thompson – who has hit on a whopping 62-64% of his three years running, reveals his plays for the big NFC prime-time matchup.

Giants vs. 49ers Betting Predictions

Giants vs. 49ers Point Spread Best Bet

The 49ers didn’t cover the 7.5 point spread vs. the Rams in Week 2, but would have had L.A. not kicked a meaningless field goal on the game’s final play, down 10. The Giants are 0-2 ATS. But matchups matter more than trends, and in this instance, San Fran owns all the matchups.

Brock Purdy is playing with a supreme level of confidence and the offense is humming. If he can do what he can do, this team is going to be tough to stop. If the Giants had a chance, it would be in the pass game. But their receivers have struggled to get open against far-lesser competition. Niners win handily. Lay the big point spread on the home team.

Giants vs. 49ers Over/Under Best Bet

Niners opponents are throwing the ball an average of 50.5 times per game, by far the most in the NFL. That’s because running is far too hard. The only time the Giants’ offense hummed this season is when it abandoned the run and let Jones throw it around.

That’s not sustainable, however. Last season, New York was 0-5 when Jones tossed it more than 34 times, and 7-1 when that number was 30 or lower. New York’s offense is going to falter because it’s going to start chucking it as it did vs. Arizona.

San Francisco has put up 30 points in each of its first two games. What’s stopping it from doing so again here? Not much. We just don’t know what the Giants are going to be capable of. Focus on other bets for Thursday night, but take the Over if you’re looking for more.

Giants vs. 49ers Moneyline Best Bet

The 49ers are a massive -550 on the moneyline, meaning you’d need to wager $550 on for a profit of $100 on a winning bet. On the flip side, betting $100 on the Giants to win earns $410 in profit.

We believe the Niners cruise here, but that is too high a cost in today’s NFL. Dumber things have happened, certainly. Go with the spread over the moneyline on TNF.
