The New York Giants went into Minnesota and upset the third-seed Vikings in their home stadium, 31-24, during the Wild Card Round to earn their first postseason victory in over a decade.

The Philadelphia Eagles were off last week as the NFC’s No. 1 seed and will host their NFC East rivals in the Divisional Round this weekend.

Spread, Moneyline, Total: Giants vs. Eagles

These teams are plenty familiar with each other by virtue of playing in the same division. This will be their third matchup in the last seven weeks, the most recent two weeks ago in the regular-season finale. Philadelphia won both contests, so New York will try to finally get over the hump with a win this time around.

The Giants’ offense stepped up against the Vikings after a mediocre regular season, topping 30 points for just the second time all year. Daniel Jones shined in his postseason debut and will need a similar performance to outduel Jalen Hurts on Saturday against a much more formidable Eagles defense.

Meanwhile, Philadelphia is ready to go after tying the Kansas City Chiefs for the best record in the NFL this year. The Eagles will be well-rested after a week off, which should help them reset after losing two of their last three games to close the season. A big key to this game will be the health of Hurts, who looked like an MVP candidate for much of the year before hurting his shoulder late in the season.

Hurts wasn’t the same player late in the year with no passing touchdowns and three interceptions over his final two games, completing fewer than 60% of his passes in both contests. The Giants have done an excellent job holding him in check throughout his career, limiting him to four passing touchdowns and four interceptions with fewer than 200 passing yards per game in four career starts against them.

If Hurts is still banged up, it could be tough sledding for him.

Philadelphia may rely on its potent ground attack to beat New York, especially if Hurts is less than 100%. The Eagles led the NFL in rushing touchdowns and ranked fifth in rushing yards, so Nick Sirianni should look to exploit a Giants defense that surrendered the sixth-most rushing yards in the NFL.

Philly is favored by 7.5 points on the spread but only beat New York by six points in their most recent meeting. The Eagles should win this game at home, but it will be close, and the Giants should be able to cover. Unfortunately, there’s not enough value in the moneyline to bet on Philadelphia, so we’ll stay away from that altogether.

Scoring was down during the regular season but increased during the playoffs, as five of the six Wild Card games exceeded their projected totals. The over/under is relatively high at 48.5, but we expect that trend to continue and recommend the over.

Player Prop Bets: Giants vs. Eagles

The best player prop for this game is DeVonta Smith Over 64.5 Receiving Yards (-114).

While Smith started the season slowly after the acquisition of A.J. Brown, he settled into his new WR2 role as the season progressed and finished the year on fire. The second-year wideout notched at least 64 receiving yards in six straight games to close the season and topped the century mark four times.

With the Giants focusing much of their attention on shutting down Brown, Smith should have less trouble getting open and see plenty of passes thrown his way.

Same-Game Parlay

Same-game parlays are wagers that incorporate multiple picks, known as “legs,” within the same sporting event. Every leg needs to hit for the bet to win, but your payout will be exponentially higher if it does.

There are some intriguing options to put in a same-game parlay for the Giants vs. Eagles on Saturday, but here is a look at our four most playable selections:

  • Jalen Hurts Anytime Touchdown (-120)
  • Saquon Barkley Anytime Touchdown (+100)
  • DeVonta Smith Over 64.5 Receiving Yards (-114)
  • Darius Slayton Over 46.5 Receiving yards (-114)

This parlay gives us +1198 odds, which means a winning $100 bet would return $1,198 in profits along with the return of your original wager.

While Hurts has had trouble throwing the ball lately, he’s still one of the best rushing quarterbacks in the NFL, especially in the red zone. He ran for 13 touchdowns in 15 games this year, including one against the Giants in Week 14. If the Eagles get down on the goal line, don’t be surprised if Hurts takes it in himself.

The same logic applies to Barkley and New York. He’s been their primary source of offense all year and scored two touchdowns against the Vikings last week, raising his season total to 12. When New York gets down in the red zone, look for them to feed Barkley the rock.

We already covered Smith’s passing prop, but Slayton should also be busy in the passing game. He’s emerged as the No. 1 receiver in the Giants’ thin passing attack and is coming off an 88-yard performance in the Wild Card Round. With at least 50 receiving yards in eight of his last 11 games, Slayton is a reasonable bet for the over here.
