NHL All-Star Skills predictions

Connor McDavid to winfastest skater (+130 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

ConnorMcDavid is one of the best players in the world for a reason - well, a fewreasons - and one of those is his speed. With Nathan MacKinnon electing to notparticipate in this event, McDavid is the favorite at our best sports betting sites.

Accordingto NHL EDGE, McDavid has topped out at a max speed of 24.05 mph this season, tied with MacKinnon for third-fastest in the league. McDavid also has thesecond-most bursts of at least 22 mph with 43, with only MacKinnon(71) ahead of him.

Hisonly real competition in this is Mathew Barzal, who has 199 20-plus-mph burstscompared to McDavid’s 270. McDavid won this event in three straight years from2017 to 2019, with Barzal taking the crown in 2020.

McDavidshould be a bigger favorite here, as he is at FanDuel (+105). Expect these odds to shorten, so get in at +130 on DraftKings whileyou can.

Elias Pettersson towin hardest shot (+175 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐

VancouverCanucks forward Elias Pettersson is looking to defend his crown in the hardestshot competition. His 103.2-mph shot won the event last year and was tied forthe second-hardest behind only Shea Weber in the last eight years.

Thatexperience will help Pettersson, as will his size. The 6-foot-2 forward has along stick, which is necessary to generate power on a slap shot.

Petterssonhas 12 shots of at least 90 mph this season, good for the ninth-most amongforwards. Teammate J.T. Miller may give him a run for his money as he has 15shots of 90-plus mph this year.

I got in on Pettersson at +230 early Thursday morning beforeit dropped to +175 on FanDuel.  That's still easily the best price among our best sports betting apps.

Connor McDavid to winaccuracy shooting (+750 via betPARX) ⭐⭐

McDavidwent a perfect 8-for-8 in the accuracy shooting competition last year, but hewas still eliminated in the semifinals as Nazem Kadri was also perfect and beatthe Oilers forward by about a second.

He will want to prove himself again this year and has what it takes tohit the four targets on just a handful of shots.

Thisevent is usually a bit up in the air, hence the +750 odds, but they're much betterthan +600 or +650 at our other best sportsbooks.
