NHL playoff parlay picks April 24: Bet on the Avalanche and Rangers to win

With four NHL playoff games on Monday, there are plenty of options available for a parlay.

The pregame narrative: The New York Rangers have been the better team through three games and we expect them to take a commanding 3-1 series lead at home tonight. Meanwhile, the Colorado Avalanche have found their groove and we like them to beat the Seattle Kraken behind a strong Cale Makar performance.

NHL odds as of 12:01 p.m. on 04/24/2023.

NHL parlay picks

Parlay: Rangers ML + Avalanche ML + Makar to score 1+ point (+220)

Rangers ML (-157): New York stormed to an early 2-0 series lead after winning both road games by a margin of 5-1. A more subdued Game 3 saw the Rangers lose in overtime, but we’re expecting the Blueshirts to get right back in the win column tonight.

That’s because they have a man named Igor Shesterkin in net. The reigning Vezina Trophy winner has made all the difference this series, allowing a total of four goals in three games. That’s good for a 1.26 goals-against average and a .950 save percentage.

The New Jersey Devils have actually out-chanced the Rangers 188-171 thus far, according to Natural Stat Trick, though that’s mainly due to a lopsided Game 1 (67-45 CF) that Shesterkin stole.

New York was 23-13-5 at home this year and we expect a veteran Rangers team to take advantage of the crowd at Madison Square Garden.

Other picks

Avalanche ML (-162): The Avalanche are reminding everyone that they’re the reigning champions. After battling through most of the season with injuries, Colorado has won 12 of its past 15 games dating back to the regular season.

We don’t expect this heater to stop now.

The Avs have been the better team at 5v5 in this series. They lead Seattle in even-strength expected goals share (56.74%), scoring chances (52.94%) and chances (52.92%).

Colorado was a killer 29-11-1 on the road this season while Seattle was an underwhelming 20-17-4 at home.

Makar to score 1+ point (-250): Makar has been possessed since the beginning of March, totalling 24 points in 17 games (playoffs included). He found the scoresheet in 12 of those contests, including in two of Colorado’s postseason games against Seattle.

Makar has generated the fifth-most shot attempts (28) and is tied for the third-most scoring chances (8) by a defenceman in the playoffs so far.

Expect him to be a force in Game 4.
