Penguins Game #1: New Lines, Notes & What to Watch vs. Coyotes

The Pittsburgh Penguins are playing their first game of the 2022-23 NHL season against the Arizona Coyotes. Sidney Crosby will make team history with his 18th season. P.O Joseph will probably make his first opening night start. The Penguins lost the first-round series to the New York Rangers. They re-signed Kris Letang, Evgeni Malkin, and Sidney Sidney. Rickard Rakell, acquired at the trade deadline, was re signed. Danton Heinen, Kasperi Kapanen and backup goalie Casey DeSmith also re Signed.

Clayton Keller, Travis Boyd, Nick Schmaltz,Nick Ritchie, Barrett Hayton, Lawson Crouse, Matias Macelli, Zack Kassian, Liam O’Brien, Jack McBain and Christian Fischer are expected to play for the Coyotes.

Pittsburgh Penguins play Arizona Coyotes in the first game of the season. Sidney Crosby will play in this game. He will surpass Mario Lemieux for most seasons played with the team (18). Sidney and Alex Ovechkin will become the 17th and 18th players to play their entire NHL career with one team.
