Rams vs Lions picks, prediction, player props: NFL odds

The NFL's Super Wild Card Weekend is filled with interesting storylines, reunions and more — this game is perhaps the biggest of them all. Ford Field will play host to a reunion between familiar faces as Matthew Stafford's Los Angeles Rams travel to take on Jared Goff's Detroit Lions. Both quarterbacks have found success in their new homes but that doesn't make this bout any less bittersweet.

The storybook showdown is set to kick off at 7:15 p.m. CT from Detroit, Michigan. NBC will carry the national broadcast with Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth on the call. FanDuel Sportsbook is favoring the hosts by a field goal with an over/under of 51.5.

Let's take a closer look at the odds and highlight our favorite player prop plays in this NFC Wild Card contest:

Los Angeles Rams (10-7) at Detroit Lions (12-5)

Time/TV: 7:15 p.m. (NBC)

Spread: Lions -3 (-115)

Over/Under: 51.5

Moneyline: Lions -164, Rams +138

PLAYER PROP PICKS

Matthew Stafford UNDER 275.5 passing yards (-114 at FanDuel Sportsbook)

Matthew Stafford is a phenomenal quarterback, as the high passing total prop signifies. However, his issue at Ford Field could be the pressure ... and we're not referring to the pressure of returning to Detroit as an opponent. The Lions have one of the best blitzing units in the league under the direction of Dan Campbell and Aaron Glenn. They'll surely be in the face of Stafford all night long, so it'll be hard for the former Detroit franchise quarterback to reach a mark he only eclipsed seven times this season.

Jahmyr Gibbs UNDER 50.5 rushing yards (-114 at FanDuel Sportsbook)

The Los Angeles Rams rush defense isn't exactly the most feared in the league, but they rank inside the top half in the league (12th) and they've only improved as the season has progressed. They allow an average of 106.8 yards per game, which directly leads us to the problem here: a two-headed ground attack.

Gibbs is an afterthought in Ben Johnson's offense — as far as running the ball is concerned — in favor of David Montgomery. Gibbs has struggled to get heavily involved on the ground since the latter's return from injury, putting up just 73 total yards on 28 carries over the last two games. I like Gibbs to be used in a more versatile capacity in this contest, so expect him to get more work through the air than on the ground.

Amon-Ra St. Brown OVER 87.5 receiving yards (-114 at FanDuel Sportsbook)

Amon-Ra St. Brown has had a phenomenal campaign to date, which earned him a First Team All-Pro nomination. He's gone over 88 receiving yards in 10 of the 16 games he's played in this year. Furthermore, with the injury to tight end Sam LaPorta (questionable) likely to keep him out, there will be more targets for the Lions' top wideout. The Rams are giving up the second-most yards to wide receivers in the NFL over the last two months, so St. Brown should feast.
