Red Wings vs. Sabres

Tage Thompson had three goals and three assists for a career-high six points in the Buffalo Sabres' 8-3 win over the Detroit Red Wings. Rasmus Dahlin, Jack Quinn, Dylan Cozens, Jeff Skinner and Rasmuss Asplund also scored for the Sabres. Dylan Larkin, Olli Maatta and David Perron scored the goals for Detroit. Alex Nedeljkovic made 38 saves. The Red Wing's have lost three of their last four games. The Sabres won for sixth time in nine games this season. It was their highest scoring output since a nine-goal effort against Ottawa on Nov. 3, 2018.

Ilya Lyubushkin is out for the second game in a row with a lower-body injury.

Jeremy Davies was recalled from Rochester of the AHL. Riley Sheahan cleared waivers and was assigned to Rochester.
