Most punters have a so-called cliff horse, and, in my case, DAWN RISING is certainly starting to fall into that category.
However, I do believe that there is a good chance that my unwavering faith in him will be justified in the final race of the week, the Queen Alexandra Stakes.
Placed at Group 3 level as a three-year-old, he made up into a useful novice hurdler during the winter and made a highly encouraging return on the Flat last time when a never-nearer third in the listed Saval Beg Stakes at Leopardstown.
He looked an out-and-out stayer over hurdles so should have no problem with this trip, the booking of Ryan Moore looks significant and he should have a bit too much class for the likes of Stratum, Run For Oscar and Falcon Eight.
