San Diego Padres vs Arizona Diamondbacks Prediction and Odds September 6

The San Diego Padres and Arizona Diamondbacks are playing each other at Petco Park on Tuesday. The Diamondback's have only lost two of their last 11 games.

The San Diego Padres host the Arizona Diamondbacks Tuesday night in the second of a three game set. First pitch is scheduled for 9:40 PM EDT. Arizona took game one 5-0 behind seven shutout innings from rookie Ryne Nelson. Merrill Kelly will start for SanDiego against Joe Musgrove. The D-Backs are 8.0 games behind San Diegues with 28 games to play.

Arizona Diamondbacks are improving this season. Arizona has one of the best 1-2 starting pitchers in baseball with Zac Gallen and Merrill Kelly. Kelly has an 8-0 record in 12 career games against San Diego. The D-Backs hitting has come to life in the last month.

Joe Musgrove has had a good season for the Padres, but he's struggled over his past several starts. The Padres lineup hasn't hit as well as expected after trading for Juan Soto and Josh Bell, although they're still doing OK. They're 10th in team OPS and 19th against right-handers. San Diego is playing for last wild card spot, so they need to improve their performance to hold off the Brewers.

San Diego Padres and Arizona Diamondbacks meet on September 6. The D-Backs are playing with house money and have nothing to lose. San Diego has more pressure on them as they have a small lead over Milwaukee for the final wild card spot. Joe Musgrove is not in great form, but he's not a big threat. I'll take Arizona on the +1.5 run line.
