San Jose Sharks

Last time out, San Jose visited the Detroit Red Wings and lost 3-2 in overtime. There was no scoring in the first or third periods, but a lot of action happened in the second. Detroit got the scoring started 2:17 into the second, but the Sharks quickly tied it up. With under four minutes to go in the second, the Red Wings took the lead again, but San Jose one again quickly tied it up and that was the last got of regulation. Detroit ended the game with a goal just 25 seconds into the overtime period.

Timo Meier and Logan Couture both scored on the night. Three Sharks recorded at least one assist in the defeat.

Erik Karlsson is having a big season for San Jose as he leads the team with 49 assists and 64 points. Timo Meier has a team high 28 goals. The Sharks are scoring 3.07 goals per game and allow 3.65.

Carolina Hurricanes

Carolina took a trip to Dallas and left with a 3-2 overtime win. The Hurricanes took a 1-0 lead but found themselves down 2-1 after the first period. Brent Burns tied the game up early in the second period and that was all the action we would see in regulation. Just 1:34 into overtime, Carolina scored the game winner to earn the extra point.
