Sandown tips: Tolworth Novices' Hurdle horse by horse guide and verdict

Henry De Bromhead's Arctic Brite won the maiden hurdle at Cork last month.

AUTHORISED SPEED won his maiden and followed up with a novice event last month. He finished fifth to Facile Vega at the Cheltenham Festival.

Leave Of Absence won a novice Kempton race in November. He finished second in Ascot hurdling debut behind odds-on Leave Of absence.

Colonel Harry won his maiden on heavy ground over this course and distance in November. He improved on his Uttoxeter debut second.

L’ASTROBOY won his bumper and maiden hurdle 297 days apart. He looks a straightforward horse who will stay further in time.

Nemmean Lion is an ex-Godolphin horse. He made his hurdling debut at Hereford in mid-November. Nemmeans Lion finished second in a heavy-ground Group 2 at Longchamp.

TAHMURAS has won at Chepstow and Haydock. He has a rating of 134 for a novice. Sandown should play to his strengths.

UKANTANGO won his sole bumper start last March and added a novice hurdle success a couple of months later. He conceded a penalty on his seasonal reappearance in a two-mile novices’ event at Wetherby.

Authorised Speed and Tahmuras are the favourites for the Sandown Novices' Hurdle. Scarface and Arctic Bresil are also worth watching.  Paul Nicholls has a good handle on the novice hurdle division.
