This Wednesday, the Seattle Mariners will head to Camelback Ranch to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Mariners aren’t having the best spring training so far as they hold an overall record of 4-6 but there is nothing to worry about this early on.
The Seattle Mariners finished last season 2nd in the AL West with an overall record of 90-72 and a win percentage of .556. The Mariners went on to beat the Toronto Blue Jays in the wildcard as they had the best comeback of the entire MLB playoffs. The Mariners went on to defeat the Blue Jays in the series but ultimately got swept by the Houston Astros in the next round. The Mariners are one of the dark horses heading into this season as they are filled with a lot of young and promising players along with some talented veterans.
The Los Angeles Dodgers will enter this game against the Seattle Mariners following a massive win against the San Diego Padres which resulted in a final score of 8-3. The Dodgers have now won three games in a row and are having a tremendous spring training so far. It is easy to tell that this Dodgers team will be in mid-season form by the time the season starts.
In the game against the Padres, Dodgers shortstop Miguel Rojas was easily the best player in the lineup as he went two for three at the plate while hitting a double in the bottom of the 2nd inning and then later homering to left field in the bottom of the 6th. The Dodgers have been a powerhouse for about five years now and they are showing no signs of slowing down.
Regardless of the Seattle Mariners spring training record, the Mariners are a sneaky team that can hang with the very best. The Dodgers clearly have all the momentum heading into this one but they aren’t exactly a shoe in for the win.
