Series Preview #46: Diamondbacks vs. Padres

The Padres are coming to Chase Field for the final time in 2022. The Diamondbacks are playing out the string, trying to sneak by the Giants for third place. They lost three consecutive series against the Dodgers, the Rockies and the Padres. In September, they have a disappointing record. The Padres haven't been much better, going 4-6 over their last ten games.

Drey Jameson will make his MLB debut tomorrow. He was ranked as the #6 prospect in the Diamondbacks' system. Sean Manaea is struggling in his first season in San Diego. The Padres have had success against the Dbacks this season. The series starts at 6:40 PM, 9/15. It's a best-of-five series.

Madison Bumgarner and Blake Snell are going to play in Game 2 of the World Series. Bumiard has been awful since joining the Diamondbacks. Snells has a career ERA of 95. The Diamondback's have hit .138 against him. He has only faced them once this season. The game is at 6:40 PM, 9/16.

Zac Gallen is having an incredible season. Joe Musgrove is in a valley of performance. They are playing a game at 5:10 PM on 9/17. The winner will play the Cy Young Award winner. They play against each other. It is possible that the game will be a good one for Musgrave.

Game 4 is 1:10 PM, 9/18: Ryne Nelson (1-0, 0.61 WHIP,0.00 ERA) vs. Yu Darvish (14-7, 0,95 WHip, 121 WHipp). Nelson's first start came against the Padres, and he did quite well. Darrish's last start against them was arguably his worst, as he gave up three runs and five hits over six innings.

The Diamondbacks are going to play the Padres in games 3 and 4 of the series. Gallen is expected to have a good outing. Bumgarner is a wild card. If Jameson has a debut, the Serpentines have good chance at taking the game.
