T20 World Cup odds

As you can see from the odds, it looks like a toss-up between India, England and Australia at the time of publication. India are usually favourites for T20 World Cups thanks to their powerful domestic league – but they haven’t won it since the inaugural tournament in 2007.

When is the T20 World Cup?

The next T20 World Cup takes place between 4 and 30 June 2024. There is an initial group stage, before a Super 8s stage, and finally a knockout stage that begins at the semi-finals.

The final is scheduled to take place on 30 June, most likely in the West Indies.

Where is the T20 World Cup in 2024?

The 2024 T20 World Cup takes place in the West Indies and the USA. America is expected to stage around one third of all matches over the course of the tournament.

It has been confirmed that three US stadiums will be used. New York will build a 34,000-seater stadium at Eisenhower Park. Dallas and Florida are to expand their stadiums in Grand Prairie and Broward County respectively.

Thirteen stadiums across the West Indies will be used during the tournament.

T20 World Cup betting tips

The 2024 T20 World Cup takes on a slightly different format from the past two competitions. That’s because there is a group stage consisting of four groups with five teams in each, and then a Super 8s stage, before the knockouts.

However, regardless of the format there are some shrewd cricket bets punters can make ahead of the tournament to secure an advantage before a ball has even been bowled.

Here are some T20 World Cup tips to consider:

  • England to fizzle out – While many cricket betting fans will be banking on England, the toll of this tournament coming at the height of the American/Caribbean summer could impact the team. What’s more, their warm-up series against Pakistan won’t do much to replicate the conditions in the Americas. England are favourites but may struggle here.
  • Pakistan Each Way? – Pakistan reached the final two years ago in Australia and are not a bad shout to make it here. You can bet on teams to make the T20 World Cup final paying at half the odds. If we assume Babar Azam’s side can make the semis, why not the final?
  • A tournament for batters – This tournament could be a slug fest. Wickets in the three American stadiums are likely to be hard and quick, and aid batting. If the organisers are to get Americans to fall in love with cricket then boundaries are key. Don’t be surprised to see high scores throughout the tournament, especially in New York, Dallas and Fort Lauderdale.
  • Keep an eye on South Africa – As 9/1 outsiders, the cricket odds suggest South Africa won’t be lifting the trophy in 2024. However, this team is the fifth-best T20 side in the world rankings and they have the batting prowess required to dominate in the West Indies. They host India in a December T20i series – good preparation for what is to come.

Who Will Win The T20 World Cup?

Indian and England are favourites to win the T20 Cricket World Cup but South Africa could be the surprise winners in 2024. They are the sixth favourites at 9/1 to win the trophy, despite being ranked fifth in the world.cricket betting tips throughout the year at Paddy Power News!
