Tyson Fury reveals the only UFC star who can beat MMA icon Jon Jones after being sent shock fight offer to fight in cage

TYSON FURY reckons only one man can get the better of UFC legend Jon Jones.

Former pound-for-pound king and current heavyweight champion Jones is arguably the most dominant force in the history of mixed martial arts.

Barring contentious wins over ThiagoSantos and Dominick Reyes, no man has come close to beating Bones - whose sole loss came courtesy of a controversial disqualification back in 2009.

Jones, 35, returned from a three-year lay-off at UFC 285 in March against Ciryl Gane - who he brushed aside in just over two minutes to claim the vacant heavyweight title.

The chasing pack's chances of getting better of the consensus GOAT have been written off by many, although Tyson Fury reckons his fellow Brit and training partner Tom Aspinall is the man to beat the Hall of Famer.

The Gypsy King told TNT Sports: "It’s a tough one. Jon Jones is the Tyson Fury of boxing.

“People are unable to beat him. Very tough one.

"Even though Tom Aspinall’s a mate, Jon Jones is probably considered the greatest of all time in MMA, so I don’t know.

"It's probably like, can anyone beat Wladimir Klitschko before Tyson Fury beat him? Probably not, but then Tyson Fury beat him.

"If anyone can beat Jon Jones, it’ll be Tom Aspinall. Nobody else.”

Fury's comments on Wigan warrior Aspinall's chances of beating Jones come just weeks after he revealed to SunSport that he'd received a shock offer to face Bones.

"That's 100 per cent true," Fury said. "I've had an offer from the UFC, from [WME] IMG, to fight Jon Jones.

"Frank Warren knows about it, my team knows about it. It's still ongoing and we're looking to move forward on that for sure.

Jones plans to retire from MMA after his UFC 295 title defence against Stipe Miocic at Madison Square Garden in November.

But surging contender Aspinall hopes to convince him to stick around - even if it means stepping out of his comfort zone and talking a bit of trash.

He told SunSport: "I'm all right to poke at someone's ego. Like you say, I am a polite guy. But I want to get what I want.

"I don't want to be so polite where people overlook me. I want to beat the GOAT, that's what I want to do.

"I want to be the UFC heavyweight champion of the world. And that's what I'm going to do at any cost.

"If that means I have to do certain stuff to get people's attention to put me in a place where other people are not, then I'm definitely gonna do that.

"I need to be selfish in this game because that's what's going to get me to where I want to be.

"Sometimes you have to hurt people's feelings to get to where you wanna be. And I'm all right doing that."
