UFC 271 gambling preview: Best bets, parlays, and the long shot of the week

This weekend in Houston, UFC 271 takes place and features a middleweight title rematch between Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker. There are 14 fights on the card showcasing some of the top MMA talent in the world.

Derek Brunson is going to try and wrestle Jared Cannonier from the opening bell. Brunon is probably the best control grappler Cannoniers has ever faced.

Nasrat Haqparast over Bobby Green at +115 is a good bet. Green has been to five split decisions in his career.

Jared Vanderaa is a value bet over Andrei Arlovski at +125. The Pitbull is 43 years old and has been eking out wins on grit and guile.

Alexander Hernandez is favored to win over Renato Moicano at +140. Hernandez's movement and physicality will prevent Moiicana from finding clinch takedowns.

Robert Whittaker is a terrible style matchup for Israel Adesanya. Adeanya is not one to force the issue. The fight may end up being similar to Adedanya's bout with Yoel Romero.

Derrick Lewis is going to beat Tai Tuivasa by KO/TKO at -125. Tuvasa's defense isn't good enough to sustain such a plan.

Bobby Green and Nasrat Haqparast have gone to a decision 19 times in their combined 25 UFC fights. This one should make 20 easily.

Israel Adesanya is the better striker and is going to beat Robert Whittaker. Alex Perez is a much more dangerous fighter than Matt Schnell. Roxanne Modafferi is 39 and she's going against one of the brightest prospects in women's MMA.

Derek Brunson is a better bet than the oddsmakers. Brunon is going to take Cannonier down and then take the back and choke him.
