US Open golf: Betting preview and offers round up ahead of third major of the year

The third major championships of the golfing calendar takes place this weekend, as the US Open gets underway on Thursday on the North Course at Los Angeles Country Club in California.

The LA Country Club will be hosting its first ever major championship this weekend, and will also be the city's first time hosting a major in 28 years.

World number one Scottie Scheffler is the strong favourite to take him his second major championship at 7/1, as last year's Masters champion bids to win his first US Open.

Jon Rahm has already won a major this year, as he won the green jacket at the Masters a couple of months ago, but 2021 US Open champion will be eager to improve on his performance at the PGA Championship last month where he finished tied for 50th.

Last month's PGA Championship and two-time US Open winner Brooks Koepka and 2011 US Open champion Rory McIlroy both occupy the tied third favourite position with odds on 12/1.
