Saints have had some memorable FA Cup moments in the Southern League Premier. They reached the finals of the competition in 1900 and 1902.
After 74 years, Southampton won the FA Cup against Manchester United. Bobby Stokes' late winner brought the trophy back to The Dell. The Wembley final was the last attended by the Queen.
Saints were defeated 1-0 by Arsenal in the 2003 FA Cup final at the Millennium Stadium. Saints were beaten 6-1 by the Gunners in Premier League just nine days ago.
Saints reached the last four in 2018, but lost to Chelsea and Leicester in the semi-finals. They reached a first semi final since 1927. In 1963, they beat Nottingham Forest 5-0 in a three-game tie. They also reached two Wembley finals in recent years. The last two years they have reached both semi finals. However, both times they lost in penalties. It was a different team each time.
Peter Crouch scored from the penalty spot to sink Portsmouth in the FA Cup fourth round in 2005. Matt Oakley had put Saints ahead. Yakubu equalised for Pompey after Claus Lundekvam fouled Diomansy Kamara. Claus was later sent off.
