2000 Guineas tips: Runner guide, odds and racecard for Saturday's big race at Newmarket
The first Classic of the Flat season takes place at Newmarket on Saturday at 3.40. Ryan Moore's colt Wembley is favourite to win the Qipco 2000 Guineas. Frankie Dettori's booking for Battleground is also being watched by punters. Mutasaabeq, Godolphin's One Ruler and Santa Barbara are also in the betting market.
Albadri (6) (Jane Chapple-Hyam/Hollie Doyle) won a handicap and finished ninth in the Saudi Derby.
Battleground (15) won the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Vintage Stake as a juvenile. Frankie Dettori's mount finished second in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf.
3. Chindit (14) won the Greenham. He's got plenty of class but his only poor run came at this track.
Devilwawa finished fourth in the Dewhurst at huge odds. He was second in Craven behind Master Of The Seas. Devilwawa is 100-1 to win the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on Saturday.
Legion Of Honour (5) is a promising colt. He was second to Megallan on the all-weather at Newcastle last season.
Lucky Vega is 22-1 favourite for the race. He impressed in the Group 1 Phoenix at the Curragh last August.
Master Of The Seas (Charlie Appleby/William Buick) is 9-1 to win the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on Saturday.
Mutasaabeq (12) (Charles Hills/Jim Crowley) is 6-1 favourite for the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.
9.11-3 Mystery Smiles (Andrew Balding/Silvestre De Sousa) (13) is 100-1 favourite for the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on Saturday.
Naval Crown is 66-1 favourite for Saturday's 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.
One Ruler (7) is 17-2 favourite for the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket. Will Buick has not chosen to ride him.
Poetic Flare (4) won a 2000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown last month. Poetic Flare's trainer won this race in 2013 with Dawn Approach.
Thunder Moon (10) won the National Stakes at the Curragh. He finished third to St Mark's Basilica in the Dewhurst.
Van Gogh (Aidan O'Brien/Seamie Heffernan) is 10-1 favourite for the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on Saturday.
Wembley is the number one Ballydoyle contender on jockey bookings. Mutasaabeq is a colt of huge potential. Thunder Moon can chase him home. Poetic Flare will make a bold run.
