Galileo's pacemaker, Ice Dancer, won with six or seven lengths to spare. Give The Slip finished third, with stable-companion Fantastic Light just behind him. Galileo was forced a little wide by Give the Slip turning in and he was never able to get his head in front.

Fantastic Light won the Breeders’ Cup Turf at Belmont on his next start. Galileo only had one more start and was retired to stud.
