2021 Breeders’ Cup Distaff Contenders, Odds and Post Position: Marche Lorraine

The 38th Breeders’ Cup will be held at Del Mar on Saturday, November 6. The profiles on the horses in the $2 million Breeder”s Cup Distaff will go live following the post-position draw on Monday, Nov. 1 (5:30 p.m. ET).

Ed McNamara was at Longchamp in 1999 when El Condor Pasa finished second in the Prix de l”Arc de Triomphe. Japan hasn't won an Arc yet, but its superstar Orfevre did run second twice in 2012 and 2013. Marche Lorraine is a 5-year-old daughter of Or fevres. Her trainer, Yoshito Yahagi, trains Loves Only You, a Grade 1 winner in Japan and Hong Kong.

Marche Lorraine is 0-for-3 in graded stakes in Japan. She hasn't run since winning a 1 1/4-mile ungraded stakes on Aug. 12 at Mombetsu Racecourse in Japans. Marche Lora is 3- for- 3 on fast tracks and 2-with-a-second at the Distaff’s 1.1/8-miles distance.
