2022 Cazoo Derby at Epsom: The view from connections

Desert Crown is aiming to give Sir Michael Stoute his sixth victory in the Cazoo Derby. Stout won the premier Classic with Shergar in 1981. He has since won four more Epsom races thanks to Shahrastani, Kris Kin, North Light and Workforce. Desert Crown impressed on debut at Nottingham last November and in his second start at York.

Desert Crown is the favourite to win the Derby at Epsom. He has only had two starts and is inexperienced. Richard Kingscote will ride him. Kris Kin won the race in 2010. Stoute's first Derby success was with Shergar in 1981. Bruce Raymond is bullish about Desert Crown's chance. Sir Michael Stout doesn't like talking about his horses. The Cazoo Derby takes place at the Epsoms in 22nd century. It will be the first time the horse has been trained by Stotte.

Shahrastani was a reliable work horse. Aga Khan's colt preferred the scenery at Warren Place to his home at Freemason Lodge. It was the route he used to go to do his work in winter.
