2022 football preview: Eastern Washington faces some rough dates on the road without its longtime lead frontman

Eastern Washington has had very little turnover in the last two seasons. The team has been heavily recruited and developed. Mitchell Johnson, a team captain, is playing his sixth year at Eastern Washington. Eastern won a national championship in 2010.

Eastern Washington is without its lead singer. Senior Gunner Talkington will start at quarterback for the Eagles. He will be throwing to a group of receivers led by junior Freddie Roberson and sophomore Efton Chism III. The Eagles have plenty of options at running back.

Eastern Washington football team is without its lead singer. The team added five transfers to the defensive line and two defensive backs. They finished fifth in the Big Sky last year in pass defense.

Seth Harrison will try to improve his kicking after playing in only seven games last season. Punter Nick Kokich will also try and improve after the Eagles had the worst punt average in the Big Sky last year. Chism returns as the team's primary punt and kickoff returner.

Eastern Washington football team is without its lead singer. Since Aaron Best became head coach in 2017, the team has won at least five conference games in each of the last five seasons. The team made three playoff appearances in the past five years.

The Eagles should be improved on defense and improve on special teams. Offensively, they should still be able to move the ball. They play an important game at Montana on November 12.
