2022 French Open: Top highlights

Barbora Krejčíková of the Czech Republic won the French Open in 2021 as an unseeded player. Daniil Medvedev's shot between the legs and Stefanos Tsitsipas' lob were among the highlights of last year's tournament.

Rafael Nadal has won his 14th French Open title. Nadel beat Casper Ruud 6-3, 6 -3 and 6 –0. It was Nadals 22nd Grand Slam title overall.

Iga Swiatek has won her second French Open title. She defeated Coco Gauff in the final 6-1, 6 -3 on Saturday. Swiatesk's winning streak is the longest since Venus Williams' 35 consecutive wins in 2000.

Rafael Nadal beat Alexander Zverev 7-6, 6-4, in the French Open semifinals. Zerev had to retire after a nasty fall and injured his ankle. Nadel will play the winner of the semifinal between No. 20 Marin Cilic and No 8 Casper Ruud on Sunday at 9 a.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.

Coco Gauff, 18, will play Iga Świątek in the French Open final on Saturday, June 4 at 9 a.m. ET on Peacock.

Rafael Nadal beat Novak Djokovic 6-2, 4-6, 6, 2-7, 7-5. Alexander Zverev beat Carlos Alcaraz 6 -4, 6 6 4 6 7 -6. They will play each other on Friday.

Unseeded Qinwen Zheng shocked the tennis world on Monday when she handed Iga Swiatek her first lost set of the tournament. Zheng won the first set 7-6 after being down 3-0 and 5-2 in the tiebreaker. She went on to lose the next two sets 6-1, 6 -2.

Rafael Nadal beat Felix Auger-Aliassime in five sets. Nadals will play Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals of the French Open.

Camila Giorgi upset Aryna Sabalenka in the third round of the French Open. Giergi is the No. 28 seed and Sabenek was ranked as high as No 2 in singles.

Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic both won their matches on Friday. Alex Zverev beat Brandon Nakashima 7-6 (2), 6-3, 7 -6.

Hugo Gaston beat Pedro Cachin 6-4, 6,6, 7-6 (6), 6.4 in the second round of the French Open. Gast on one of his shots, a trick shot, was applauded by the crowd.

Carlos Alcaraz won the match against Spain's Albert Ramos-Vinolas in five sets. Alaraz is one of the favorites to win the French Open. It's only his second French open. He was receiving down 3-1 in the fifth set when he was pushed to a complete stretch and hit a down the line winner.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga retires from tennis after his first-round loss to Casper Ruud. Tsongas was honored on Court Philippe-Chatrier. He reached a career-high ranking of No. 5 in 2012. He made it to the final of the Australian Open in 2008, the semifinal of French Open (2013, 2015, 2016), the semi-final of Wimbledon (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2016) and the quarterfinal at the U.S. Open.

Diane Parry beat Barbora Krejčíková 1-6, 6-2,6-3 on Monday.

Magda Linette beat Ons Jabeur 3-6, 7-7,7-5 in the first round of the 2022 French Open. Jabur was ranked No. 4 on the list of players to win the tournament. Linett won 74% of her first-serve points and only 44% on breakpoints.
