2022 Hustle Belt MAC Football Power Rankings: Week 9

Akron Zips lost to Miami RedHawks. They made too many mistakes and couldn't convert opportunities into points.

Western Michigan Broncos lost again. They looked better against BGSU this week. Tim Lester missed a field goal late on. Western Michigan is running out of opportunities to make something out out the 2022.

Northern Illinois Huskies are 2-7 and have a low vote. They lost 21-0 to CMU. The team has an injury problem at quarterback. Nevan Cremascoli is the only player on the roster who can play quarterback, and he's the sixth player to play at camps.

Central Michigan Chippewas beat NIU to stay in the race for a bowl game. The team needs to win out and finish 6-6 to be considered for the bowl. The Chips are ranked 9th in this week's Hustle Belt MAC Football Power Rankings.

Miami RedHawks are ranked No. 8 in the latest Hustle Belt MAC Football Power Rankings. Miami beat Akron Zips 27-9. The Redhawks have lost three of their last four games. They need to win two of the next three games to qualify for a bowl and win out to guarantee the postseason.

Kent State is ranked 7th in the Hustle Belt MAC Football Power Rankings for the week 9. The Golden Flashes are 2-3 in league play and 3-6 overall. They must win out to get to the postseason.

BGSU is ranked 6th in the Hustle Belt MAC Football Power Rankings. Bowling Green Falcons are ranked 7th. BGSU beat WMU, but they could have won the game if it wasn't for a miracle play by the WMu defense.

Eastern Michigan Eagles lost to Toledo Rockets 27-24 in the final seconds. The team is ranked 4th in this week's Hustle Belt MAC Football Power Rankings. They need to win out and hope for a bowl bid to have a chance to play in Detroit.

Buffalo Bulls lost 45-24 to Ohio. Buffalo has lost control of the MAC East. If Ohio wins out, Buffalo will lose the conference. If the game goes to Detroit, the Bulls will be down 2 points.

Ohio Bobcats are one of the most fascinating stories in college football in 2022. They are 6-3 overall and 4-1 in the MAC, having already qualified for a bowl. Their quarterback Kurtis Rourke is one the best in his class, while their receiver Sam Wiglusz is league's leading receiver.

Toledo Rockets beat Eastern Michigan Eagles to take the top spot in the Hustle Belt MAC Football Power Rankings. Toledo controls their own destiny to Detroit. They are currently ranked 1st. If Toledo wins the game against Detroit, they will move to 2nd.
